16 Week Check-Up

So today Justin and I went to the doctor for my prenatal checkup with Dr. Haun. Everything is fine with baby and me. Heart beat is good, my blood pressure is good, and I have gained some weight. Yay! We are all good. I talked to her about a few concerns that I have been having such as my bleeding gums and these anxiety attacks I have been having. She talked through some suggestions about both issues with me and I feel a lot better about everything. I love having a doctor that doesn't rush the appointments and makes me feel important and takes the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. If anyone is looking for an OB-GYN I highly recommend her. Get with me and I will give you her information.

I was really relieved to hear baby’s heartbeat today. I am 16 weeks and I haven’t felt the baby move yet. You are supposed to be able to hear it between 16 and 22 weeks. Some women that have had babies before may feel things sooner. Everything is fine though, I will feel baby when he or she is ready.

Speaking of him or her, we will find out what we are having in two weeks. My next appointment is set for January 31st. I bet these two weeks just drag by, because I cannot wait to find out what we are having. I asked the Doctor what she thought about the Chinese Conception Chart. She actually said that she has never heard of it before, but loves to hear myths like this. I guess we will see how accurate it is in two weeks.

I have started researching baby books. Once we found out what we are having we are going to pick one up or order one. I found an awesome website that has tons to choose from, babysakes.com. I found several that I really like. I can’t wait to get one and start filling it up with memories and putting all the love I possibly can in it.
